Been putting off calling up Comcast to get the PTR record changed for mail server due to my innate slacking nature and my dread of dealing w/ Comcast support. After my past experiences getting my service and then upgrading it from 1 to 5 static IP’s I would end up sitting on hold forever and trying to explain what a PTR was and that they could change it.
Instead I was on and quickly off the phone again. There was no run around… Well one, But I will get to that… The person, who sadly in my shock forgot to remember his name, knew what the PTR record was, how to create and enter the ticket and had me off and on my way to a more reliable mail service. He even took care of another minor issue I had w/ my router in the blink of an eye. I can honestly say that was the best tech support I have gotten in a long time and still not believing that it was Comcast.
My only issue w/ the whole ordeal was I had to use an old number in their automation system and manually enter all 20+ numbers of my account code. Even after doing this, I still had to then give them verbally to the tech once I got done sitting on hold. Pretty sure I spent more time dealing w/ the automated system than I did w/ a live person.
I guess I should also tell Comcast thank you for finally giving me BBC America in HD, Love it.
Next up on getting stuff off my “slack” list is getting my passport. Really hope I didn’t use up all my good luck on the Comcast experience to be punished there.
