Kicked Comcast TV to the curb

Finally got around to kicking Comcast TV out of my house this past weekend. This is after my cable box had finally died and had not been working for over two weeks. Really wanted to watch the Alton Brown BBQ Good Eat’s special just one more time, but oh well.

Not sure how fast it happened, but I tried last night to access HBOGO and was denied. Was kinda hoping I could get a few more weeks out of that. Seems those systems are pretty tight and update quickly. Last movie/show I watched was The Grand Budapest Hotel. Hopefully HBO carries thru w/ their plans and has HBOGO sans cable subscription before Game of Thrones starts this summer.

Only thing I have missed so far the NHL All Star event. None of that was streamed via NHL Game Center. Just a few high lights here and there.

Once I get my tax return I will picking up an antenna and getting a new Tivo. I have missed my old friend. Sadly in a push to clear my house of junk I finally sent my old original Sony Tivo to the electronic recycling place. The HD had finally crashed a long time ago in it and I just never got around to replacing it. Then it wasn’t worth replacing. 🙁

I am sure there will be some NHL games I will miss, but saving $136 a month is totally worth it.
