So Park Atlanta is that bad

Kinda want to hate the fact I never post anything really positive. I mean, the whole thing about Apple selling the $19.99 HDMI cable was kinda an attempt to start a new trend. Though in the end I guess I just want to be publicly bitter about stuff and private about the good stuff in my life.

To that end, It would seem Park Atlanta is really that bad. I mean, I have never used them until this one night… 20110804 just before 1800. I go through the process of giving them my credit card number before we even can talk about how much parking time I need and the cost. Even though getting a receipt is optional, I go ahead and get one even though the hippy in me cringes at “wasting” paper.

Head into Ri Ra to hang out w/ some friends I haven’t seen in a bit. Head out 2 hours and 10 mins later and find I have been ticketed. Not only is it before my chariot is turned back into a toaster, but the ticket says they have “incriminating” photos of my car being parked in a completely different space as the one it is clearly parked in.

Upon getting home and going to look at these “incriminating” photo’s, It seems you have to wait 7+ days for these to show up. Really? You have all this fancy networking, programming, meter’s tied to some network and it takes you 7 day’s to get pictures online? Ok, Fine… I digress…But… Here are my photo’s of my innocence posted in 2 places less than a couple of hours later done manually.

Seeing as how they try to funnel you into paying them or reporting a broken meter, I finally found the single link on their site to dispute the ticket. Though just like the meter taking my credit card info before we even negotiate a sell, You are required to give up a bunch of personal information that isn’t needed to refute the ticket. I mean honestly, What is to stop some random meter maid falsely ticketing a car so they can gather all this personal information so they go visit the victim later in the “privacy” of the victim’s home? Maybe it is kinda/almost fair that they at least put the meter maid’s first/last name on the ticket also… Though I have no way to verify it was them really. Ok… I keep digressing. I know there are much bigger wrong’s in the world, but it all starts small.

Hopefully this can all be resolved over the phone and doesn’t require me to show up in person anywhere. If it doesn’t… I am sure the only way I can get there is I have to park in yet another one of their paid parking spaces, Miss work that I am paid by the hour for (or not if dealing w/ this) and stand in some line w/ 1 person working a window. With time of that costing me money way in the excess of what the fine is. Which circles back to how bad Park Atlanta is… They basically have a open check book to ticket as many people as possible and see who is willing to just pay the fine instead of dealing w/ the people at Park Atlanta who obviously can not count.

  1. Figures, Citation is online now… But when I go to look at their evidence, There is no picture of my violation just yet ANOTHER button to pay for my ticket.

Trying to find a live person and not a click to pay button is impossible w/ Park Atlanta.

  2. Bah, This was no fun… Got an email a few mins ago that said the citation I recieved was “no longer my (your) responsibility”. Though I kinda wonder who’s “responsibility” the citation is now.
